Art Club
This club provides students with opportunities to explore and further develop artistic skills. Students work under the guidance of elementary school art teacher, Mrs. Hammes. This club meets after school on specific dates of the week. A sign-up sheet is made available with school announcements as a way to make students aware of this opportunity.
Early Riser Readers
When: The first Wednesday of each month (September - May)
Where: IMC
Time: 8:00 - 8:35 AM
Parents, guardians, relatives, or special guests are cordially invited the first Wednesday of each month to read with their students while enjoying some light breakfast items. Thank you to the PTA who hosts this event for our kids and their families/guests.
Explorers of the Imagination Club
The Explorers of the Imagination Club begins at the end of November and each Tuesday after school through the end of February. Students work in teams to complete a variety of challenges that require students to use creative writing skills, engineering design skills and scientific thinking. Fire Safety and Prevention Poster Contest
Students are encouraged to create a poster that captures a theme associated with fire safety and prevention. Students are provided materials and have an open canvas to create a message that illustrates a fire prevention theme. The posters are judged by art teacher Mrs. Hammes who also provides guidance and support to students as they plan and create their posters. The poster contest is sponsored by the Elkhart Lake and Glenbeulah Fire Departments. First place winners are eligible to compete at the state level.
Game On Fitness Challenge
GAME ON! focuses on all the awesome things students can do with a healthy mind and body, It helps strengthen the connection between fitness and fun and is also a way to allow physical education departments to raise funds not only for equipment and supplies, but also to continue to fund the causes and charities that matter the most to their school and community. GAME ON! Challenges our elementary and middle school students using a variety of obstacle courses that require students to use their physical skills and their problem solving skills.
Kindness Club
The kindness club allows students to work together to create various themes, activities, and celebrations in support of displaying kind acts, kind words, helping others, and being welcoming to each other. Elementary teacher Mrs. Stecker is the kindness club advisor.
Little Amigos
The Little Amigos Spanish program partners elementary students with 8th grade middle school students who facilitate the learning of Spanish. In partnership, elementary and middle school students learn foundational Spanish while exploring the Spanish culture and heritage. The Little Amigos program is facilitated by Middle School Spanish Teacher Mrs. Wagner.
Lunch Buddies
Students are provided the option to share lunch once a week with an identified big brother or big sister. Students are also given the opportunity to spend time with middle school and high school student mentors who devote their time to come to know elementary students, share stories, share lunch time, and play games. Lunch buddies are arranged through School Counselor Mr. Shanahan.
Second Step Program
Our Kindergarten and first grade students explore their emotions, feelings, and responses as part of social-emotional development. Students learn about managing emotions, making friends, being cooperative, and managing disagreements using the Second Step program. Students explore lessons about empathy, fair ways to play, how to calm down, focused attention, and problem solving steps. The goal is to help all students establish and build upon social-emotional skills as part of a united community of learners.
Other Activities
There are other activities available for students that are sponsored by the Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah Athletic Association, Sheboygan County, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, and 4-H.
