Food Service / Lunch Program
ELGS will continue to participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) for grades K-12 for the 2026-27 school year. Please know that there are some supply chain issues. The menu is subject to change. We apologize for this and will continue to work with what we receive.
Meal Costs
Cash is not accepted at the cashier stations in the lunchrooms. Please make sure your child(ren) have sufficient funds in their Food Service Account.
Parents can add money to their household Food Service Account in two ways:
1) Pay online via Infinite Campus using a credit card (fee of 3.85%) or eCheck (fee of $0.35)
2) Cash or check (made payable to ELGS) can be dropped off in any school office or mailed to the District Office at 201 N. Lincoln Street, PO Box 326, Elkhart Lake, WI 53020
Snack Milk: $0.45
- NOTE: milk is INCLUDED with hot lunch. This cost is for milk during snack time.
- Students who would like to drink a milk with cold lunch will still need to purchase that milk at lunch time
School Lunch:
- Milk: $0.45 (with cold lunch)
- Childcare – 4th Grade: $3.35/day
- 5th – 12th Grade: $3.60/day
- Adult guests & staff -- $4.75/day
National School Lunch Program
Kindergarten – 12th Grade
ELGS participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and follows USDA Offer Versus Serve (OVS) guidelines.
Each school lunch offers five meal components:
- Protein
- Grains
- Vegetables
- Fruit
- Milk
To receive a reimbursable lunch, students must choose at least three (3) of the five meal components, and one of those selections must include:
- Grades K-8: At least 1/2 cup of fruit and/or 3/4 cup of vegetables (or a combination of both)
- Grades 9-12: At least 1 cup of fruit and/or vergetables (or a combination of both).
Students are always welcome to take all five meal components if they wish.
What's Included in Lunch?
Every reimbursable lunch includes choices from the following:
- Fat-free skim or fat-free chocolate milk
- Fresh, canned, and steamed fruits and vegetables
- Whole grain-rich breads, pasta, rice, buns, dinner rolls, and breadsticks
- A USDA-compliant entree featuring protein and grains
- Lean proteins including poultry, beef, beans, and cheese

Middle School & High School
The menu will be the same as the elementary/middle school with the correct portions for grades 5-12. The cost is $3.60.
A la Carte items will be available for purchase during lunch.
Please remember:
- A la carte items are not included with Free or Reduced-Price Meals.
- Students with a negative meal balance of $10.00 or more may not purchase a la carte items until their account has a positive balance.
- Parents are encouraged to monitor meal account balances throughout the school year.

Free / Reduced Lunch Applications
To see if your family qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program, please print this form and return it to your child's school office prior to the school year, and AFTER July 1. Once reviewed, the district office will notify you of any benefits you can receive for the upcoming school year.

Dietary Restrictions
If your child has special dietary restrictions, requiring an altered hot lunch meal, this form must be printed and signed by your health provider. All completed, signed forms MUST be returned to your child's school office before any changes can be made to your child's hot lunch meal.
