High Marks!

ELG High School earned a 3-star "Meets Expectations" rating on the Wisconsin State Report Card.

  • English - Eight (8) college credits available through St. Norbert College within the English Department.
  • Math - Nine (9) college credits available in Pre-Calculus and Calculus through UW-Oshkosh 
  • Physical Education - Three (3) college credits available through UW-Oshkosh. 
  • Social Studies - Six (6) college credits available in the Social Sciences through Lakeland University and six (6) college credits available in History through UW-Oshkosh. 
  • Science - Four (4) credits in Biology through Lakeland University. Four college credits available through Anatomy/Structure-Function & Medical Terminology (distance learning -2 college credits each). Also possibility of earning 4 college credits through AP Environmental Science. 
  • Agriculture - Three (3) college credits available in Horticulture through LTC. Also high school science equivalency credits available through agriculture courses. Also as of spring 2015, a new on-site greenhouse/classroom laboratory is available for coursework in the areas of agri-science, biological sciences, culinary arts/family and consumer science, and the study of aquaponics/hydroponics. 
  • Performing Arts - While participating in a major performing ensemble, intermediate or advanced musicians expand their current skills and further their experience with literature appropriate for their level. Students will extend their understanding of music through involvement in a series of achievements such as honors opportunities which provides a well-grounded foundation for college level study of music. 
  • Family and Consumer Education - Ten (10) college credits and Customer Service Certification available in customer service coursework in preparation for the hospitality industry through LTC. ServSafe and ProStart Certification attainment available as a part of the ProStart Program. As part of the Personal Finance class (required for high school graduation), all students participate in an an application simulation to apply their knowledge from the classroom to a simulated program. 
  • Technical Education - Advanced Standing courses available including Computer Applications and Drafting/CAD. Advanced classes available in CAD, Woodworking, Metals, and Electricity/Robotics. 
  • Visual Arts - The art program is formed to develop creative problem solving and studio skills in the visual arts at the highest level. Objectives relating to aesthetics, history, culture, and criticism are practiced. Art exhibitions and contests are entered, allowing student recognition, awards, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Foreign Language - Multiple Foreign Language offerings, including four years of both Spanish and French offered on-site which allows students to test into advanced coursework in college. In addition, students have the opportunity to earn a Global Education Achievement Certificate (additional information included). 
  • Academic and Career Planning (ACP) - Provides students and parents with information needed to make informed choices for education, training, and careers. Academic and Career Planning is based on the students interests, abilities, values, and goals. At ELGHS, Academic and Career Planning is a continuous process driven by students and supported by staff, parents, and community to empower and challenge students to learn, know, explore, and create a plane for a fulling future.
  • Global Education Achievement Certification is awarded to high school students who demonstrated a strong interest in global issues by successfully completing a global education curriculum and engaging in service learning activities that foster global competencies, which are student-centered and implemented in the community.
  • EL-G High School provides ALL high school students (grades 9-12) with tablets (Chromebooks) for their educational use. The goal of our one-to-one learning environment at ELGHS includes the following: improved student learning and instruction; becoming lifelong learners (transformative learning); learning 21st century skills; and participating in meaningful and relevant student engagement. 
  • Consistently favorable and above state average on the ACT and academic testing for college admittance.
  • A leading school district in applicants to Youth Apprenticeship-a program focused on preparing students for future careers by combining coursework with on-site job experience.
  • ELGHS has highly educated, qualified, and compassionate staff who are involved with ongoing professional development and post-graduate degrees.
  • Opportunities for all interests and abilities with a no-cut policy in athletics with affordable (low) fees for registration and extra-curricular participation for all students and families. 
  • Student-driven system-academics, sports teams, and extra-curricular offerings tailored to meet our students' need (club and sport descriptions on enclosed insert). Some of these allow students to compete academically and artistically at state or national competitions.
  • Our newly constructed 1,625-square-foot Greenhouse offers students the ability to study traditional plant growth and expand their experience with the more modern technology of aquaponics and hydroponics. Also to be completed this summer, complete renovation of the Auditorium/Performing Acts area; the Family Consumer Science classroom and culinary arts labs/kitchens; and athletic field upgrades--ADA bleachers, new lighting and new concession stand/storage garage.

  • Technology infrastructure improvements include wireless internet connectivity throughout the high school and google classroom for collaborative online learning. New/upgraded equipment includes new Fanuc Robotic Arm, CNC Mill and CNC Router, 3D Scanner and Printer, Laser Engraver, Robotics Equipment, Welder, and Plasma Cutter. Also, Technology-based education is used in every class, with Promethean boards, document cameras, and internet-based learning.  Completed summer 2018 -- newly renovated technical education, drafting, robotics and agri-science learning complex.

  • ELGHS offers the "small school advantage" - no one gets lost in the crowd. Assistance by staff available before or after the traditional school day. Also have the after-school programs to provide help and structure for students so they become responsible, well-educated students. Programs in place to help all students succeed (Response to Intervention) with continuous evaluation of students to determine educational needs.

  • Kohl Fitness Center is open to the students, staff, and community.

  • Strong focus and emphasis on community service (component of high school graduation).
