Absences, Late Arrivals or Leave Early
Please let the office know about
- any absences when your child is not in school
- needs to arrive late / leave early: home sick or for a personal reason, leaving early / coming late for an appointment, etc.

Return to School After Illness
For students who become ill, the return to school is only after being free of the following symptoms for at least 24 hours: persistent cough, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, sore throat, or other communicable illnesses.
Absences Other Than Illness
For all anticipated absences other than illness, such as appointments, one day, or multiple days, please contact Mrs. Manderle in the office dmanderle@goresorters.com to provide information about the dates and reasons for the absence. A pre-excused absence form needs to be signed by teachers prior to the student leaving for the absence. Please contact the office as soon as possible to allow time for your children to get the required signatures

3rd Quarter 4th Quarter
Honor Roll Includes grades 6, 7, and 8
There are three divisions for the Honor Roll:
- High Honor Roll 3.75-4.00 gpa
- Honor Roll: 3.50-3.749 gpa
- Honorable Mention: 3.00-3.49 gpa
There is also recognition for "Noted Improvement" for any student who raises his/her grade point .5 from the previous quarter (this is for 2-4th quarters only).
Note: Any student who receives a grade of "F" is not eligible for any Honor Roll status.
Classes that meet daily receive a weight of one (1). Classes that do not meet daily (example: Phy Ed, Art, Health, Personal Growth, Music-Band and Chorus) receive a weight of one-half (.5). In Middle School, Spelling is included in the Language Arts grade and is not listed as a separate grade.
